A catch-all feature that is enabled for a specific mailbox will permit you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. In other words, if you disable an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any mistyped email address under the same domain, you will get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be essential in case you are running a business, for instance. Since you may start receiving spam emails, you can combine the catch-all functionality with anti-spam filters so as to get only real email messages in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud platform and you have a shared website hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a few features, but it is incredibly simple to work with, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just one single click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you will only have to click the "Catch-all" button for the concrete address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the very same button.
